Rapid City Area Schools is pleased to announce the release of the updated 2026–2027 school calendar and the newly approved 2027–2028 school calendar.
The updated 2026–2027 calendar reflects revisions approved by the Board of Education to support district operations and provide families, students, and staff with the most accurate schedule for the upcoming school year. The newly approved 2027–2028 calendar offers families and employees the opportunity to plan ahead with key dates, including the first and last days of school, holiday breaks, professional development days, and other important district events.
"Providing calendars well in advance helps our families and staff effectively plan for the future," said district leadership. "We appreciate the collaboration and feedback that helps shape these important scheduling decisions."
Parents, guardians, students, and staff are encouraged to review both calendars and note any changes to previously published dates. The calendars are available on the district website and will serve as the official schedules for their respective school years.
