🎓 Teacher of the Year: Katey Swank
Katey Swank has been named Rapid City Area Schools’ Teacher of the Year in recognition of her passion for education, commitment to student success, and positive influence in the classroom. Known for building strong relationships and fostering a supportive learning environment, Katey exemplifies the qualities of an exceptional educator and a true advocate for students.
🚌 Bus Driver of the Year: John Hammond
John Hammond has been selected as Bus Driver of the Year for his professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for students. As one of the first and last RCAS staff members students see each day, John plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and consistent start and end to the school day.
Both honorees reflect the dedication and excellence found throughout Rapid City Area Schools, from classrooms to transportation and beyond. Their work highlights the vital role teachers and support staff play in creating a positive and successful educational experience for students.
